Work can shape so much of who we are: our confidence, our relationships, our sense of meaning. When something goes wrong there, it can wound us deeply.
Perhaps you’ve always worked in caring or service roles and now feel depleted, questioning whether you can keep giving.
Maybe you’ve experienced difficult workplace dynamics, bullying, burnout, or redundancy that’s left you anxious, hypervigilant, or doubting yourself.
It could be that you suspect there are patterns from the past holding you back, or you may see similar patterns in other areas of your life too.
Or you might simply feel lost — unsure what’s next, but certain that something has to change.
As a trauma-informed counsellor, I offer a space to gently explore how work and identity converge. Together, we can begin to:
Therapy can help you rebuild trust in yourself, support you to find your voice (and your calm!), and help you begin to imagine new possibilities.
I mainly work online with clients across the UK and have a small number of in-person sessions available in Oxford.
If this speaks to you, you’re very welcome to get in touch for an initial chat.
Welcome to Nautilus Counselling.
I'm Beth and I'm passionate about helping you find your 'happy' or your 'mojo' (whatever you would like to call it!) at work. We spend a lot of time at there so for your wellbeing and quality of life it is important to find contentment rather than grief, confusion and anxiety.
I've been in some dark places in my working life and I have learned that it doesn't have to be that way. With small steps it is possible to enjoy a more authentic and meaningful working life. People used to tell me that 'you just have to get on with it, no one likes their job'. I'm here to tell you this isn't the case at all and we can work through it together.
Contact me for a free fifteen minute call so we can get to know each other and you can ask any questions you might have.

My approach involves exploring and supporting all the parts of you, including your current self who might feel exhausted and desperate, as well as your inner child who may need to be heard for a change. I also recognise the role the body plays in healing and that bringing together mind and body can be a life-changing act. Ways that I can support you include:
In addition to some face-to-face sessions in OX4, I offer online counselling. Online sessions are available via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp Video and Facetime, allowing for greater flexibility, reaching clients from the surrounding areas of Marston, Cowley, Wood Farm, Sandhills, Risinghurst, Wheatley, Summertown and across the UK.
Online counselling can work very well for many people as it is more convenient than face to face (with no travel time or parking to worry about!) it can be very helpful for you to be in the comfort of your own home, particularly when talking about difficult subjects. This can even mean that the work evolves more quickly than in face to face sessions.
Payments to be made at least 24 hours in advance via the booking management system. The full fee needs to be paid for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange a fifteen minute phone or video call. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
